Great Performances: Chicago Voices

First aired in Chicago on WTTW and then in a special edition for PBS’ Great Performances, 3-time Emmy Award winning Chicago Voices is an all-star salute to Chicago’s vocal traditions and their profound impact on the American musical landscape.

Musical Director Doug Peck leads performances by Renée Fleming, Kurt Elling, Shemekia Copeland, Jessie Mueller, John Prine, The Handsome Family, Matthew Polenzani, Michelle Williams, Lupe Fiasco, and the Voices of Trinity Mass Choir in stunning solo performances and thrilling new collaborations from the biggest names in opera, blues, jazz, Broadway, hip-hop, folk, gospel, and R&B.

Shot live at Lyric Opera of Chicago as part of their Lyric Unlimited gala event, and featuring some of music’s best vocalists with deep ties to Chicago, the special celebrates the incredible musical legacy of one of the greatest American cities.
