Bandstand

If you ask us, one of the most important and least talked about factors that led to the success of Hamilton was the stunning, thoughtful and thrilling choreography by Andy Blankenbeuler. Andy returned to Broadway to not only choreograph but also direct Bandstand, a thrilling original Broadway musical about returning World War II veterans’ attempt to reintegrate into society after enduring unspeakable tragedies by forming the hardest driving swing band the country has ever seen.

And if you ask us, it’s one of the most underrated and moving original musicals in recent memory. We were elated when Sing Out Louise Productions called on HMS to direct and shoot this wonderful production so that viewers around the world could see it on movie screens via Fathom Events.

Shot during its original Broadway run and starring Corey Cott and Laura Osnes, Bandstand proves that the original American musical is alive, well and swinging.
