Catherine Haremski

Catherine joined the HMS Media team in July 2007 with a strong background in independent film and arts management. She is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago’s Film/Television department and has spent years fostering a deep familiarity with regional arts organizations and collaborators. It is this background and insight that make her an ideal producer for our broadcast and promotional projects that aim to tell an artistically human story.

Her passion for visual storytelling is clearly evident in her most recent documentary, the critically acclaimed Our City, Our Shakespeare that premiered on WTTW in May 2014. She took the role of associate producer for the 2012 Emmy Award-winning PBS documentary Dance for Life, and has produced several hour-long documentaries for Northwestern University, which aired on The Big Ten Network. In addition to producing, she has also assistant directed the multi-camera broadcast production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL – THE CONCERT and THE SECOND CITY GUIDE TO THE OPERA, starring Renée Fleming and Patrick Stewart.

Catherine has also created fun and compelling promotional pieces for the Broadway productions of SHREK, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, and the national tours of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, DREAMGIRLS and DINOSAUR ZOO LIVE, as well as various projects around the city for some of Chicago's most celebrated arts organizations, such as Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Steppenwolf, Lookingglass, House Theatre, The Gift, Joffrey Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Chicago Dancing Festival, to name a few. She is also a proud board member for The House Theatre of Chicago.
